Leading North West building and maintenance contractor HMS recently won a contract to transform and refurbish MyClubmoor, a brand new community centre building in North Liverpool which had once been a builder’s yard.
Throughout the six week project a new kitchen, bathroom and WC was fitted and the flooring was resurfaced. The old brick work was treated and sealed to add a touch of character to the space and HMS staff advised on best practice treatments and preservation of areas. The centre was also brought up to date with current fire regulations.
A HMS Quality Assurance Officer overlooked the works throughout the project and HMS ensured everything was delivered on time and to budget. MyClubmoor is part of the St Andrews Community Network and runs on donations, therefore HMS offered the best pricing strategy for the refurbishment without compromising on quality. HMS also arranged for a skip onsite, free of charge and some extra works were completed without a fee as a goodwill gesture to support this new community initiative.
The finished centre culminated in a grand opening event and a local artist won the opportunity to create the graffiti design on the front entrance that has made the site a beacon for everyone living nearby.
John Maguire, Community Engagement at MyClubmoor said: “The work was completed efficiently to meet the tight deadline for our first opening engagement week in May. We now have a pleasant environment to undertake our community engagement work in. HMS were positive and enthusiastic in their approach and keen for the sustainability of the MyClubmoor community hub.”
MyClubmoor is now home to many regular local community events, activities and projects and will be looking for opportunities to work with HMS in the future.
